Training to WIN!

Another great week of running which got me up to 30 miles again for the week. The highlight was definitely a surprisingly challenging 10 miler on Saturday out of the Brookline Marathon Sports store. Instead of doing our usual loops through the Newton Hills we took a variation of "Lisa's Loop" which I wrote about last year.

With trails, woods, a few juicy hills including one in Larz Anderson park (which I'd never heard of before) this was a fun adventure which reminded me of how big the suburbs of Boston are... 8.05 min/mile pace which got progressively faster after a slower start.

The New Balance RC1600's felt great again and I'm rapidly coming to the conclusion that these will be the shoes I run NYC Marathon in November.

One of our running friends works for Win Detergent and offered us all some samples to try out afterwards. As Saturday afternoon is nearly always laundry day, a significant proportion of which is workout gear, I took him up on the offer and tried it out on a full (smelly!) load.

I have to admit that I'm not really an expert on laundering but everything came out spotless and it appears to live up to it's claim of "helping bring garment back to their original level of performance."

Check it out if you get the chance, you can buy it from many sports and speciality running stores.

  1. Have you tried any other performance detergents before? I used to be a huge consumer of WIN, but the product became unavailable for purchase online for a while. Despite the higher price tag than normal detergents, it did work as advertised. I eventually found ProWash as a suitable alternative. I saw a WIN booth at the Multi-Sport expo last month and the representative said they are under new ownership and WIN is once again available. Debating if I should make the switch back
